We’re Fighting to Bring Our Voices Higher. Are You In?

I am running for U.S. Senate.
Lorita Daniels has spent her entire life in public service, including her time as a federal employee, serving the people in communities where she lived. For too long, improving communities and people’s lives have been the center of conversations but have often been sidelined when it comes to putting these conversations in the center of the decision-making process.
I’ve spent the last six years serving as your school board member and more recently the chair of the Spotsylvania County School Board, and I’ve seen firsthand the progress we can achieve when we take an “all hands on deck” approach to uplifting voices too often left out of the conversation — not tucked away and shelved until the next campaign season, but truly heard, valued, and included every day.
Before I became an elected official, I began my educational journey as a substitute teacher in rural Georgia, striving to ensure that every child — especially those who needed to see their own identity reflected in the classroom — knew they belonged and had a voice in their education.

Our founders built a system designed to serve the people, not the other way around.
The U.S. Constitution affirms this clearly: “We the People” establish that all power is vested in, and consequently derived from, the people, and that government exists “to serve the common good, ensure justice, and secure the blessings of liberty for all.” These words must continue to guide us, even when our economy is shattered, our politics are shattered, our healthcare is shattered and our relationships with one another feel shattered too.
We must not forget that the power still belongs to us—even during these challenging times.
I want to remind you that you do not have to silence your voices during these chaotic times. Instead reflect, reset and re-envision what you want to see for your community.
I am here to renew the promises of “We the People” to ensure every voice and person is heard and included, every community is represented, and every person can see their government working for them.
Lorita understands the importance of listening to individuals with lived experiences, having engaged directly in numerous community issues. That’s why her Re-envisioning Agenda will prioritize the people-lived experiences while emphasizing stewardship and shared prosperity that makes us believe that our democracy can work as intended. WE CAN MAKE THIS RIGHT!

Lorita has a re-envisioning agenda that is grounded in her own experiences –as a mother of three boys, including one that is a combat veteran who served his country well, a lifelong educator, a public servant, a military/veteran spouse, a daughter serving as a distant caregiver for my elderly mom, first generation college graduate with a PhD from Virginia Tech, experience as a small business founder and a range of community involvement –all of these experiences will serve as the backdrop of the re-envisioning plan that we want for Virginia. In Congress, Lorita will work hard every day to make sure that voices are heard, and that no voice is left out of the conversation. Together, let’s bring our voices higher and build an agenda with us in mind!
